Information You Provide
Names, phone numbers, or addresses entered into a search form are sent to the outside provider that supplies results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting systems create routine logs, including an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We review aggregate information to maintain the service and understand page use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, where relevant, advertising measurement.
How Limited Data Is Used
We use limited data to run the service, diagnose issues, count traffic, and improve the reference material. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Links and Searches
County and state portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools have separate privacy practices. Their policies govern information you submit there, including information entered through sponsored search results.
Service Providers and Disclosures
Providers that host or support the service process server logs on our behalf. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the technical data described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires disclosure and otherwise only as stated here.
Safeguards and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes described above. Because there are no user accounts, the service does not hold a visitor password or account profile.
Visitors Under 18
This reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor sent us information, contact us so it can be deleted.
Your Information Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data a service holds. Missouri’s Sunshine Law, Chapter 610 RSMo, including §§610.023 and 610.026, governs access to records held by public custodians; it is not a general consumer-privacy statute for this private reference. Because we keep little information, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and available logs. Use the Contact page to ask. For records held by a Missouri city, county, or state custodian, direct a correction or removal request to that custodian.
Policy Updates
Any revision will appear on this page. Continuing to use the service after a posted change means you accept the updated policy.
